Qianjinzi

　　Stephanotis is the dry mature seed of Euphorbia lathyris L., a plant of the Euphorbiaceae family. Mainly produced in Hebei, Zhejiang, Sichuan and other places. Harvest when the fruits are mature in summer and autumn. Dry.

　　[Properties] Pungent, warm. poisonous. Returns to the liver, kidney, and large intestine meridians.

　　[Efficacy] It drives water to reduce swelling, breaks blood and eliminates diseases.

　　【application】

　　1. Edema and swelling. This product can cause diarrhea, expel water and reduce swelling, its effect is similar to that of Gansui, but its nature is severe. It is suitable to be used for symptoms of edema with difficulty in defecation. It is effective when used alone, or with rhubarb and wine as pills, or with Fangji, betel nut, Tinglizi, mulberry bark and other qi-moving and water-reducing medicines to enhance the effect of driving water and reducing swelling, such as Xusuiziwan ("Principles of Syndrome and Treatment").

　　2. Massage and amenorrhea. This product has the functions of breaking blood stasis, eliminating syndrome, and unblocking meridians. For the treatment of lumps in the lump, light powder and indigo can be used as powder, and glutinous rice can be combined into pills, such as Xusuizi Wan ("Shengji Zonglu"); for the treatment of blood stasis and amenorrhea, it can be used together with Angelica sinensis, Chuanxiong rhizome, and safflower.

　　1. Chemical composition: Contains 40% to 50% fatty oil. The oil contains toxic components. The oil contains gold, ingenol-20-palmitate, etc., and contains terpene ester compounds. It also contains white daphne, susceptin, horse chestnut bark, etc.

　　2. Pharmacological effects: The fatty oil in the seeds is odorless and colorless when fresh, but soon becomes foul-smelling and has a strong spicy taste.
